Duke of Edinburgh Awards – Palace Visit

As Headteacher of Prudhoe Community High School I was invited as a VIP guest to attend the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award presentations at St James’ Palace this week. As part of the presentations I was was able to meet and speak to Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex about our fantastic school and the wonderful students and staff we have. We have reintroduced the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme back into the school this year with Mr Gray taking responsibility for this. We currently have 26 students registered for the bronze award and 3 students registered for the gold award. I am very proud of all of the achievements of our students and I recognise the real benefits to young people who take part in awards such as this.
