Employment Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in working with us here at Prudhoe Community High School. We currently have the following  vacancies:

Deputy Headteacher
L15 – L19

Due to the promotion of the previous postholder to Headship, Prudhoe Community High School requires a Deputy Headteacher to start September 2021.

We are a 13-19 high school with 795 students on roll including post 16 provision for 200 students. We are a small school, with an excellent reputation within the area for our excellent examination results (both year 11 and post 16) and our pastoral care for our students.

In 2016, the school moved into a new building with outstanding facilities. OFSTED arrived shortly afterwards and graded the school as good. In 2019, the school became part of the Tyne Community Learning Trust. The Trust is a small trust with 6 First schools, 2 Middle schools and our school, which is the only High school in the Trust.

The vacancy offers great potential for career development and will provide opportunities to show the impact of your leadership, preparation for headship and driving an already reputable school towards excellence in all areas.

We welcome applications from candidates in existing Deputy Head roles and also those who have been successful with significant demonstrable impact in Assistant Headteacher or equivalent roles.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and forward thinking leadership team, with an aspiration to make PCHS one of the best schools in the North East.

We are strongly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosure is required for this post.

Informal discussions or visits to the school prior to interview are encouraged. Please contact Cherry Collings (Headteacher’s PA) to arrange a visit or a phone call with the Headteacher. [email protected]

Application packs and further information are available on request. Please email [email protected]

Completed applications should be returned directly to the school either by post to Cherry Collings, Moor Road, Prudhoe. Northumberland. NE42 5LJ or by email to [email protected]
