How will students be assessed?
Students will take 4 mandatory units and 3 optional over the two years.

1 – Preparing to Work in the Performing Arts Sector – Externally Assessed Year 2

2 – Proposal for a Commissioning Brief – Externally Assessed Year 2

3 – Influential Performance Practice – Externally Assessed Year 1

4 – Pathway Specific Mandatory Unit (Drama/Dance/Music/Production) – Internally Moderated Year 1

5 – Option Unit A – Internally Moderated Year 1

6 – Option Unit B – Internally Moderated Year 1

7 – Option Unit C – Internally Moderated Year 1 into 2

MANDATORY PATHWAY UNIT BEGINS

Students begin the research and development of their personal skill portfolio whilst working together towards a full scale production “The Pillowman”

Continuation of MANDATORY PATHWAY UNIT

Students research, rehearse, practice and develop skills in their chosen pathway. They should be building a portfolio of evidence that shows skill development, attendance of skill workshops, skills in practice and research on key practitioners

IN ADDITION

YEAR 12:

 Optional Unit Choice – based on pathway AND connected to full scale production of “The Pillowman”

 YEAR 13:

 Option Unit A – based on pathway AND connected to full scale production of “The Pillowman” (Drama Students should complete Unit 12 – Theatre Directing, Music Students should complete Unit 28 – Songwriting)

 Culminates in full performance of “The Pillowman” in last weeks of term – Dates TBC
